Denzel Curry — Strictly 4 The Scythe

Let’s hit it with something a little more modern! Denzel Curry put together this super team of: A$AP Ferg, Bktherula, and TiaCorine for the collective’s first album together: Strictly 4 The Scythe. This album is full of that heavy bass and super spooky sounding beats from classic southern Rap. Some Three6Mafia vibes really. I really love the vibe of this tape, visually and sonically. This album came out March 6, 2026.

I really love the cover art and overall packaging design for this album. The artwork is super dope, and the inside booklet folds open int a pretty sick poster. The artwork seems to be illustrated by Tommy Bohn.

The first song on this album is a banggerrrr and an intro into the collective known as ”THE SCYTHE” feat. TiaCorine & A$AP Ferg. (Side note: Didn’t Ferg drop the A$AP recently?) This is a SUPER bouncy instrumental. Such a fun beat. Everyone has a great verse on this song too.  I couldn’t even begin to decide who has the best verse. Part of me wants to say Tia kilt this, but Ferg is a close second, and then Denzel Curry is last in 3rd.

The album closer on this album is very “ballady”, it’s an obvious end to the album, but idk how I feel about it. I love the energy of all the other songs really, even the slower approach on “TAN” feat. BKTHERULA & TiaCorine would have been a dope way to slow the album down.

This is such a fun album. The handful of songs that I really like on this album, I’m prolly going to be enjoying for years to come. Few tracks that I don’t really agree with, but that’s gonna happen. Hoping to hear more of this sound as the years come.

Super solid project. I was beyond hyoped to order the CD once I listened through a few times. Ended up finishing with a score of: 8.3
